UPDATE: Bath salts suspects arraigned

UPDATE 3:20 p.m. May 18th, 2015 (EDT) — The two people taken into custody Friday in Wakefield on charges related to the possession of synthetic drugs commonly known as bath salts have been arraigned.

38-year-old Toni Sanchez and 44-year-old Dustin Garrick are each facing one count of conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance and one count of attempted possession of a controlled substance. Garrick is also charged with delivery or manufacture of cocaine, heroin, or another narcotic less than fifty grams.

Both are lodged in the Gogebic County Jail. They will each have probable cause conferences on May 28th and preliminary exams on June 4th.


WAKEFIELD — Two people were taken into custody Friday on charges related to the bath salts drug.  Troopers from the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post say a search warrant executed at a home in the City of Wakefield revealed a large quantity of bath salts. Two suspects, a male and a female, were arrested for conspiracy to distribute bath salts and are lodged at the Gogebic County Jail.
