HOUGHTON COUNTY — Drivers making the commute along M–26 in Houghton and Ontonagon counties should be on the lookout for lane closures.

Starting Thursday, MDOT will be resurfacing 20.8 miles of M–26 from US–45 north to Twin Lakes Road using a chip seal. Shoulder and curb work along with pavement markings will also be done during the project.

Drivers should expect single–lane closures until the project is completed. The estimated completion date is July 31st. For a map of the area affected by this construction, click here.
