Superintendent holds workshop to discuss district’s mission

ISHPEMING — Opportunities to continue growth are being reviewed by the Ishpeming School District.

A workshop was hosted by Ishpeming superintendent John Summerhill Monday night for over twenty people including board members, faculty and members of the community. The purpose of the workshop was to bring stakeholders together to discuss the district’s mission and vision.

“It’s a part of school improvement, it’s a part of district improvement, and again moving more toward a collaborative effort district wide with all of our stakeholders,” said superintendent John Summerhill. “We want to look at more data and be more data driven in the decisions in our programming. The goal for us is to create a learning environment where all kids learn. Where everybody’s needs are being met in the classroom behaviorally and socially.”

The workshop also covered the importance of input from everyone involved with the students.
