Hancock principal moving on to new career
HANCOCK — There will soon be a job opening for Principal of Hancock High School.
That’s because long–time Principal John Sanregret will be leaving the school to try a new career path. The Hancock native has been in his current position for 18 years and he says it was time to move on.
Hancock High School Principal John Sanregret says, “I have always thought about a career change at some point before I’m done working completely. I knew I wanted to work in either banking or finance. Fortunately, I was able to get to thirty years in education and that was a goal of mine, and now that I’ve got the thirty years in education, I’d like to put in a good fifteen years, anyway, in the banking industry. I’ve got a lot of good memories of the sports and things we’ve been able to do in athletics, so, a lot of good memories. I will always be a Bulldog. It’s been a great place to work.”
Sanregret plans to use his business degree from Michigan Tech and go to work for Miner’s State Bank in Ripley as a commercial lender. The exact date of his transition has not been determined.
