Three arrested in eastern U.P. drug bust

SAULT STE. MARIE — Three people have been arrested for their alleged roles in a Chippewa County heroin ring.

The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force executed search warrants in Sault Ste. Marie Thursday, which led to the arrests.

Two suspects, Edward Jabour, 30, of Sault Ste. Marie and Gary Parton, 42, of downstate Romulus, are charged with conspiracy to deliver heroin. The third suspect, Rebecca Clark, 25, also of Sault Ste. Marie is charged with two counts of delivery of heroin. All three are habitual offenders.

Tri-DENT had been investigating these suspects as part of a ring that has been trafficking heroin from the Lower Peninsula and selling it in Chippewa County.

Officers recovered ready-to-sell heroin, drug money and other drug-related evidence. All three will return to court for a probable cause conference February 26th, and then again on March 5th for a preliminary exam. Additional arrests are expected.
