Meth making components found in Escanaba

ESCANABA — Meth–making components were discovered in Escanaba Sunday.

Officers from Escanaba Public Safety say they responded to a complaint of possible drugs found in the cleanup of a residence on the 300 block of South 9th Street shortly after 1:00 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found possible meth lab components and contacted detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.

UPSET confirmed that the materials were indeed used in the production of meth, and they determined that the scene was a meth dump site. Detectives were able to clean up and dispose of the hazardous material.

No one was injured during the incident, and the investigation continues.
