Marquette Township meth lab suspect bound over to circuit court

MARQUETTE — A Marquette man arrested in connection to a meth lab found on New Year’s Day is heading to circuit court.

Michael Hill, 32, was bound over to Marquette County Circuit Court Thursday. He is scheduled to be arraigned there on February 6th.

Police discovered meth production components after being called to a trash can fire at the Imperial Motel in Marquette Township on New Year’s Day. The fire had already been put out, but components discarded from what may have been a meth lab started it.

UPSET detectives subsequently discovered numerous meth production components at the motel. Hill was identified as a suspect and arrested two days later. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department said Hill is also a suspect in the dumping of meth components that were found in Marquette on January 2nd. He is charged with operating or maintaining a meth lab.
