No Illinois murder trial date set yet for Crystal Falls woman

CHICAGO — A Crystal Falls woman accused of murdering her husband in Illinois more than 35 years ago is still waiting for a trial date to be set.

Jacquelyn Greco, 67, is in the Cook County Jail on a first-degree murder charge. She had a status conference scheduled for today, but it’s been postponed until February 19th.

Greco was arrested in April 2013 for the 1979 murder of her husband, Carl Gaimari, in Inverness, Illinois. Two men entered the family home, tied up Greco and three of the couple’s children, and shot and killed Gaimari when he returned home.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office accuses Greco of planning the incident. Investigators have said that Greco was having an affair at the time and that she told at least one other person her husband would be killed in a home invasion.
