Toll card readers are coming to Sault International Bridge

SAULT STE. MARIE — Drivers will have an easier time paying tolls when crossing the International Bridge in Sault Ste. Marie.

A new toll card reader opened on one of the northbound lanes Monday and another reader is expected to open in January. Southbound card readers will be installed later this winter.

The new toll card readers are part of an $8.9 million toll plaza reconstruction project that includes a total of seven toll lanes with automatic card readers and gates.

The project is expected to be completed next October.
