Casperson wood stove bill passes MI House & Senate

LANSING — A bill about wood stoves written by state Senator Tom Casperson of Escanaba is on its way to Governor Rick Snyder for his signature.

The Michigan House and Senate have both approved Senate Bill 910.

The bill would ban the Michigan DEQ from placing new rules on wood stoves. It would also ban the DEQ from enforcing EPA regulations to limit emissions from wood stoves that may be imposed next May.
