Grayvold prepares for national title game

WHITEWATER, Wisc. – Wisconsin Whitewater will play Mount Union in the Stagg Bowl for the NCAA Division III championship this Friday. Norway native Brady Grayvold will play in his final game as a Warhawk. The senior defensive back has had a season to remember.Grayvold made the All–America team and the Warhawks are undefeated (14-0).

“I’ve heard from a lot of people in the past couple of days, including a number of former teammates,” said Grayvold in a telephone interview Tuesday. “It’s definitely been a good response and more shock than anything that we’re in this position again.”

“It’s been crazy. I don’t think I could have ever envisioned this year, coming from Norway and going to play college football and have it happen like this. It’s been a true testament to what the coaches down here and the things they have us do. All the plays I’ve ever made or am going to make is the result of ten other people doing their job and getting the quarterback to throw the ball quicker to make a bad throw. There’s a lot of contributions from a lot of other people. It’s been crazy… I’ve never could have dreamed of something like this.”

Friday night’s national championship game takes place in Salem Virginia. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. eastern, 6 p.m. central. You can watch the game live on ESPN U.
