Marijuana charges sends man to jail for one year

ONTONAGON — An Ontonagon man arrested on drug charges will spend one year behind bars.

Harvey Reaver, 34, will also have to spend two years on probation and pay over $3,000 in fines.  He was sentenced Thursday in Ontonagon County Circuit Court and credited for 172 days served.

Reaver had pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, use of marijuana, and use of a controlled substance.  In exchange for his guilty plea, delivery/manufacture of meth and marijuana, possession of meth, maintaining a drug house, and possession of firearms by a felon were dropped.

His co-defendant, Janet Finley, 54, had her case dismissed last month.  The two were arrested in June when police executed a search warrant at their Mass City home after receiving a child endangerment complaint.
