Cause of Escanaba house fire undetermined

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Department of Public Safety had concluded its investigation into a November 7 fire at 508 South 10th Street.

The fire originated in the main level bathroom, but the cause of the fire is undetermined.  The Department of Public Safety says the investigation revealed several electrical issues, but not one single contributing factor could be determined.

Public Safety credits the quick response by a patrol sergeant, who notified Delta County Central Dispatch, after observing heavy smoke coming from the residence.  Firefighters confined the damage to the home.  No other homes were damaged.

The Escanaba Department of Public Safety would like to thank the Ford River Township Volunteer Fire Department, Rampart EMS, and the Delta County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in the incident.
