Upper Peninsula Weather Forecast 11/17-18

Temps have been well below average over the past few days, but even colder air will arrives this evening to set up a bone chilling week. Tonight expect lake effect snow to increase while temps plummet. Along Lake Superior, lake effect snow advisories have been issued through Tuesday, which could mean an additional 6-12 inches (4-8″ tonight) of snow for most of us, with Alger, Houghton, and Ontonagon counties perhaps seeing more.

Weather Forecast:

Lows will drop to the upper single digits and lower teens, with winds blasting out of the northwest at 15 to 20 miles per hour, generating wind chills around 0 degrees. Tuesday remains cold and snowy, as lake effect showers bring between 3-6 inches of the white stuff across the northern portions of the viewing area. Farther south, expect to be more around 2-4 inches. Highs will top off in the low to mid-20s, while northwest winds continue at 15 to 20 miles per hour.

Tomorrow night, the arctic air mass holds firmly to the region as snow lightens. Low temps will fall around the low to mid single digits, while southwest winds weaken between 5 to 15 miles per hour, bringing wind chills below 0. Wednesday we’ll have another disturbance move through producing another round of snowfall. Stay warm!!
