MTU, NMU suffer losses at GLIAC/GLVC Crossover

AURORA, ILL. – Day one of the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover volleyball tournament did not go as planned for Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan. The Huskies fell 3-1 to Missouri S & T. NMU also lost by a 3-1 decision to Rockhurst.

Junior left-side hitter Lisa Studnicka led the Wildcats with 16 kills. Sophomore middle-hitter Anna Aycock added 10 kills for NMU. Freshman setter Meghan Seymour had 40 of the 46 assists for NMU. The Wildcats wrap up the tournament with two games on Saturday against Wisconsin-Parkside (11 a.m.) and Lewis (5 p.m.)

For the Huskies, freshman Lauren Emmert led the way with 14 kills. Another freshman, outside-hitter Noelle Eveland, added 13 kills for MTU. Junior defensive specialist Jacqueline Aird led the team with 16 digs. Michigan Tech has two games remaining at the tournament on Sunday against Lewis (11 a.m.) and Wisconsin-Parkside (5 p.m.)
