Jury finds Delta County man guilty of operating a meth lab

ESCANABA — It took only a half an hour for a jury to find a Ford River Township man guilty of operating a meth lab.

43-year-old Robert Hanley’s trial ended Tuesday afternoon in Delta County Circuit Court.  He is scheduled for sentencing December 1, and could spend up to 20 years in prison on the meth charge.

In December 2013, The Delta County Sheriff’s Department learned he had a one-pot meth lab in his home.  The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team got a search warrant for the home and U.P.S.E.T. found meth-making materials there.

Hanley was arrested in February.
