One taken to hospital after two-car crash at Marquette intersection

MARQUETTE — A 40-year-old Gwinn man was taken to the hospital following  a two-car accident Tuesday night.

Marquette City Police say the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the intersection at US-41 and McClellan Ave. in Marquette.

The Gwinn man was traveling southbound on McClellan Ave., passing through a green light when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Manistique traveling eastbound on the highway.

The Gwinn man was transported to Marquette General Hospital for injuries. The Manistique man was cited for a red light violation.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
