Finlandia Volleyball sweeps Northland Int’l
Hancock, MI – The Finlandia volleyball played host to the Northland International Pioneers from Dunbar, WI and defeated them in three straight games, 25-20, 25-18, and 25-20. The win improves the Lions to 2-6 on the season.
Leading the way at the net for Finlandia were senior Augustine Brutus and sophomore Katelyn Anderson each with 7 kills and freshman Devin Bristley with 6 kills. Freshman Taylor Mitchell came up with 3 blocks at the net for the Lions. Freshman Emma Nelson continues to set the team up as she tallied 26 assists on the night. She was also big with the serve as she and sophomore Breanna Merriam each had 2 aces.
Next up for the Finlandia volleyball team is a trip this weekend to Oshkosh, WI where they will play 4 matches, 2 on Friday and 2 on Saturday, at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Pizza Hut Classic.
