Assault suspect pleads guilty in U.S. District Court

An Upper Peninsula man accused of attacking a woman on an Indian reservation has admitted to an assault charge.

Joseph Lauzon, 36, of Manistique has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Marquette to assault by striking a dating partner.

Lauzon assaulted a woman on the Sault Ste. Marie Band of Chippewa Indians reservation. A sentencing date has not been set yet.
