A Palmer man with a history of criminal sexual conduct is now facing 12 counts on three new charges.
Ronnie Smith, 38, was scheduled to begin his trial on Monday in Marquette County Circuit Court for two cases: one involving CSC in the 4th degree and another involving two counts of CSC in the 2nd degree.
His trial has been adjourned due to new charges brought against him in District Court, which include five counts of child abusive commercial activity, six counts of using a computer to commit a crime, and one count of possession of child sexually abusive material. Court officials are expecting Smith to make a plea deal some time between August 22 and 29.
He was arrested in January for two alleged criminal sexual conduct incidents in Palmer and Negaunee involving victims between the ages of 13 and 17 and a preteen.
