Iron Mountain armed robbery case remanded to District Court

A 35-year-old Niagara man facing armed robbery charges has had his case remanded back to Dickinson County District Court.

Gene Hebert is charged with two counts of armed robbery, and one count of first degree home invasion as a two-time habitual offender.  Hebert was extradited to Michigan from Pennsylvania in March for his involvement in an Iron Mountain armed robbery incident last summer.

Police say it occurred in the 200 block of West Brown Street, where three suspects dressed in black entered a home, robbed a man at knife point, stole cash and the man’s medical marijuana.

One of his accomplices, Mary Angela Hawthorne, 26, pled guilty to larceny in a building in June.  She will be sentenced in Dickinson County District Court August 18.

Hebert is also charged with larceny in a building from a separate incident.  He will have a preliminary exam for both cases August 15.
