Delta County man sentenced to federal prison for making meth

A Delta County man will spend more than seven years in federal prison for making meth.
James Wyatt, 50, has been sentenced in U.S. District Court in Marquette to 86 months in prison and three years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty earlier this year to manufacturing methamphetamine.
The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team arrested Wyatt last fall at the home he was renting on M-35 in Rock. Wyatt has been ordered to pay $11,500 in restitution to his former landlords to repair damage his meth lab did to the property. The landlords told the court that Public Health of Delta and Menominee Counties has condemned the home because of the severity of the damage.
Wyatt will also undergo 500 hours of drug treatment, as well as DNA testing and mental health treatment.
