Sault Ste. Marie man pleads guilty to child pornography charges

A Sault Ste. Marie man accused of making child pornography pled guilty to two charges in Chippewa County Circuit Court.

Wayne Baldwin, 37, pled guilty to two counts of using a computer to commit a crime and two counts of possession of child sexually abusive material.

Police confiscated 19 electronic devices, including cell phones, computers, and tablets, from a residence on Carrie Street in the Sault that Baldwin shared with his brother, Eric.  Police say the brothers were running child pornography operations independently.  They do not feel any of the material was produced locally.

Eric, 29, is charged with a total of 15 felony counts and will go to trial in October.

Wayne will be sentenced August 12.
