Guilty plea for Alger County man involved in meth lab case

A co-defendant in a Munising meth lab case pled guilty in Alger County Circuit Court Monday.

Fred Hunt IV, 44, pled guilty as a habitual offender, fourth offense to one count of possession of meth. Two of Hunt’s original charges, operating/maintaining a meth lab and conspiracy to operate/maintain a meth lab were dropped in the plea agreement.

Hunt and three other Munising residents were arrested in February after police found a meth lab and meth components at a home on Superior Street in Munising.

Hunt will be sentenced August 4.
