NMU’s Siemer to play on U.S. hockey team

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University hockey player John Siemer has been named to U.S.A. Hockey’s National Inline Team for the upcoming 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation Inline Hockey World Championship to be held June 1-7, in Pardubice, Czech Republic.

Siemer is one of only two current collegiate hockey players on the 14-player roster for the upcoming World Championships. The team begins its weeklong trip to the Czech Republic on Sunday (June 1) in an opening round game at 8 a.m. (EST) against Great Brittan.

Siemer will enter his sophomore campaign with NMU this fall after a stellar freshman season that saw the forward score 18 points in 21 games for the Wildcats.

Former U.S. National Inline Team member Joe Cook will serve as head coach of the U.S. National Inline Team for the fifth time.
