NMU’s Toogood breaks school record

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University junior track and field runner Christina Toogood finished 14th in the prelims of the 1,500 meter run during the first day of competition at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday.

Toogood set an NMU school record with a time of 4:31.09 in the event, finishing sixth in the second heat but missed the cut for the finals by less than a second.

NMU senior Cheyenne Stewart will compete at 4:45 p.m. Friday in the triple jump and freshman Jasmine Williams will compete at 5 p.m. Friday in the discus at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
