Two women are recovering today from injuries sustained during a car crash in Iron Mountain Thursday afternoon.

Iron Mountain Police say it happened around 3:30 p.m. near the Dollar Tree on U.S. 2 when a vehicle operated by an 86-year-old woman pulled out from an access road into the path of a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Iron Mountain woman. Police say the 86-year-old had to be extricated from her vehicle by the Breitung Township Fire Department and the R-300 unit. Both women were then transported to the Dickinson County Hospital by IFR Ambulance for treatment. The 86-year-old was cited for failure to yield.

The Iron Mountain Fire Department, Cerasoli Motors, and Twin City Towing also assisted on scene.
