Coinciding with a symposium being held in honor of the Copper Strike of 1913, a protest took place today against Moyle Construction.

Members of the local community gathered on the campus of Michigan Tech Friday to show their support for the Moyle Construction workers.  Moyle recently was ordered by a U.S. District Court to repay funds that should have gone to the workers’ pension fund.

But supporters say there are more problems within the company.

“There are more issues like safety in the workplace. We just want to make sure that the public gets the awareness. We’re trying to build public support just to rally people behind workers because this isn’t an isolated case with one company but this runs rampantly these days,” John Klieber said.

Members of the coalition say they plan on taking action on those issues soon.
