If you’ve been in Marquette this week you may have noticed people milling about the corner of Third Street and Washington.

That’s because there’s a new business in town. Yoop-Phoria has been serving frozen yogurt to the community since Tuesday, but Friday marks its official grand opening.

It opened at 10 a.m. Friday and will remain open until midnight, which will be its regular business hours in the coming weeks.

“After 9 o’ clock, 9:30, you go to the movies, there’s no place to get anything to eat, go get a treat or something, so we thought we’d cater to that crowd, date night, people that want to get out and get something, especially in the summer when you want to do something while it’s still light, we’ll be open until midnight,” Yoop-Phoria owner Tami Blotter said.

In addition to frozen yogurt, Yoop-Phoria also serves smoothies and muffin breaks, which are muffins cut in half with yogurt, granola and topped with whipped cream.

The current lineup features eight different flavors, which will change on a weekly basis.
