Carnegie Public Library having a used book sale

If you’re looking for something to do Saturday after digging your way out of the snow, the Carnegie Public Library in Ishpeming might have what you’re looking for.

The Friends of the Library are holding a book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The sale will help clear out some used stock so that the library will have the space to continue its renovations.

“They’re putting in a handicap accessible and ADA compliant elevator so we’re trying to make room and so it’s a big blowout book sale where they’re getting rid of their entire collection,” Carnegie Public Library Director John McNaughton said.

The elevator is phase three in a four phase overhaul.  Other phases saw the addition of ADA accessible ramps and improvements to the programming room.

All books will sell for 25 cents from 10 to noon; from noon to 2 p.m. patrons can fill a bag for $250; all remaining books are free from 2-4 p.m.
