Portion of US-2 in Ironwood closing by water main break
A portion of US-2 will close later today because of a water main break.
MDOT says the affected portion of the road is in Ironwood at the intersection with Luxmore Street. The closure takes effect at 4 p.m. Central time and will affect all lanes in both directions.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured north on Lake Street to Jackson Road and then east to US-2. Westbound vehicles will be detoured along those same streets but in reverse, to Jackson Road, then Lake Street and then to US-2 again. The detour is about three-fourths of a mile.
There’s no estimate from MDOT on a range of time that they expect the repairs to take.
