BAY CITY, Mich. – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference announced its all-conference women’s basketball teams on Friday (March 7) at the GLIAC Championship banquet. Danielle Blake and Mackenzie Perttu were named to the GLIAC First Team. Blake was also selected to the All-GLIAC Defensive Team.

Blake, a sophomore guard from Midland, Mich., leads the Huskies in rebounding (6.7), blocks (52), steals (37), and minutes per game (32). She ranks third in the GLIAC in blocks and ninth in rebounding. Blake was a Preseason GLIAC Second Team selection and was named to Radisson Roseville Classic All-Tournament Team during the opening weekend of play. She has recorded three double-doubles this season, four 20-point games and scored 32 points in a nationally televised game at Ashland, the defending national champion.

Perttu, a sophomore guard from Green Bay, Wis., leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game. She is seventh in the GLIAC in free throw percentage (83.5) and 10th in scoring. Perttu has scored 20 points in nine games this season and broke the school record for most free throws made (16) and attempted (18) against Northern Michigan, while scoring 30 points.

The Huskies play NMU for the third time this season at 3 p.m. on Saturday (March 8) in the second GLIAC Semifinal at the Matthaei Center on the campus of Wayne State University. WSU and Malone meet in the first semifinal.
