MARQUETTE, Mich. – Junior guard Alyssa Colla and junior guard Lauren Gruber earned All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference honors announced the league office at the GLIAC Championship banquet Friday.

Both Colla and Gruber were named to the GLIAC All-Defensive team while Colla earned All-GLIAC First Team and Gruber was selected to the All-GLIAC Second Team.

“Both Alyssa and Lauren are very deserving of these honors,” said NMU head coach Troy Mattson. “We are appreciative of what they have done for our program and are proud of their accomplishments.”

Colla leads the Wildcats averaging 16.7 points per game while also leading the team with 84 assists and 38 steals on the season. Colla leads the league in minutes played (952), while ranking third in free throw percentage (89.1), field goals made (163-352) and total points (450). Colla is fourth in points per game (16.7) and seventh in assists (84).

Gruber is second on the NMU squad scoring 9.9 points per game while ranking second with 70 assists and 25 steals. Gruber is fourth in the league in minutes played (918) and eighth in free throw percentage (83.2).

NMU finished the regular season with a 20-7 overall record and are the No. 2 seed in the GLIAC Tournament. The Wildcats face Upper Peninsula rival No. 3-seeded Michigan Tech at 3:07 p.m. Saturday at the Matthaei Center in Detroit.
