Two-car accident sends two to Bell Hospital

Update 3:28 p.m.

Police have released names of three people involved in a two-car accident in Ishpeming.

Police say Christina Anthony of Republic, driving a Kia Sorento, failed to yield right of way as she pulled out onto U.S. 41 from County Lane.  She hit a truck driven by Bradley Gurski of Munising.

Anthony and her passenger, Tammy Johnson of Marquette, were both taken to Marquette General Hospital for evaluation.

Anthony was cited for failure to yield.

A two-car accident on U.S. 41 in Ishpeming sent two people to the hospital.

Eyewitness accounts indicate the incident happened around 12:15 p.m. when a Kia Sorento pulled out of Country Lane onto U.S. 41 in front of a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck. The driver and passenger of the Sorento were taken to the hospital by Bell EMS for treatment of elbow, hand, hip, and shoulder pain.

The names of those involved and their statuses are not being released at this time. The accident remains under investigation.

Ishpeming City Police were assisted at the scene by the Ishpeming Fire Department and the Michigan State Police.
