Probation for man with marijuana plants in home
An Osceola Township man arrested on felony drug charges will see minimal jail time and spend three to twelve months on probation.
Steven Stukel, 53, pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana in Houghton County District Court.
In addition to paying $725 in fines and costs, Stukel will have the option of undergoing 15 days of community service or serving 30 days of jail time. He was arrested in early January after Troopers from the Calumet Post of the Michigan State Police noticed an overwhelming odor of marijuana emanating from a neighboring residence while responding to a snow plow complaint.
After receiving Stukel’s permission to search the home, police located more than 20 marijuana plants and over 2,000 grams of usable marijuana.
