Police analyzing evidence in hit and run

Michigan State Police are in the process of analyzing evidence from a hit and run that left the Marquette community reeling.

The body of Robin Rahoi, 54, of Big Bay was found by a motorist on County Road KCB in Powell Township on the morning of December 17.  Michigan State Police at the Negaunee Post say that she was killed when she was struck by a vehicle.

Preliminary reports suggested that Rahoi was walking on the roadway when she was hit.  Police say that evidence was collected from the scene and from a suspect’s vehicle.

All of that evidence is currently being processed at the Michigan State Police Forensics Lab.  Results are expected to be available by the end of the month, at which point they will be given to the Prosecutor’s Office so charges can be filed.

Police also interviewed a separate suspect regarding the incident.

No one is currently in police custody.
