nmuThe Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees has a new member today, and he runs a Baraga County business.

Scott Holman of downstate Freeland owns and manages King Lake Wilderness in Covington. He’s also the founding director of FirstState Bank of St. Clair Shores. Holman has a bachelor’s degree in business from NMU.

He’s been appointed by Governor Rick Snyder to replace Stephen Gulis, Jr., who resigned. Holman will serve the remainder of Gulis’s eight–year term, which expires at the end of 2018.
