Palmer man arrested on CSC charges
A Palmer man with prior criminal sexual conduct convictions is facing a number of new charges.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department and Negaunee City Police arrested Ronnie Edward “Zack” Smith, 38, after two separate investigations.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says Smith allegedly committed second degree CSC charge involving a pre-teen victim in Palmer.
In a separate investigation by the Negaunee City Police, Smith allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl between the ages of 13 and 17 in Negaunee.
Smith is charged with two counts of second degree CSC with a victim under 13 as a habitual offender, and one count of fourth degree CSC with a victim between the ages of 13 and 17.
He will be in the Ishpeming Branch of Marquette County District Court for a pretrial conference February 10 on both cases.
