Woman dead after crashing into plow truck
An Iron River woman is dead after crashing into a plow truck this morning.
Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say she’s 49-year-old Kristine McKinzey. The accident happened shortly after 6 a.m. Central time on US-2 in Bates Township at the Sunset Lake Road intersection.
Police say McKinzey lost control of her vehicle on the slippery road surface. She crossed into the path of an Iron County plow truck, which then hit her.
McKinzey died at the scene. The plow truck driver was not hurt.
The Iron River Police Department, the West Iron County Fire Department, NorthSTAR EMS and the Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division assisted at the scene.
