The J.C. Penney store in Marquette Township will close sometime within the next few months.
J.C. Penney said in a statement today that the company is closing 33 underperforming stores nationwide. The store in the Westwood Mall is one of those. The statement said that the store closures should be complete by early May.
About 2,000 employees around the country are expected to be laid off. J.C. Penney expects to save $65 million from the closures.
