The incident happened around 4:00 p.m. on Carpenter Avenue when a resident approached Kingsford Public Safety officers stating that a male driver had just pointed a gun at him while driving.

Officers conducted a traffic stop at a nearby Shopko parking lot where the suspected driver was taken into custody. Upon approaching the vehicle, safety officials noticed a handgun under the driver’s seat. A second loaded handgun was discovered after a search of the vehicle was conducted.

The driver was then taken into custody for a Concealed Weapons violation and lodged at the Dickinson County Correctional Facility. The suspect’s name is being withheld at this time, pending arraignment.

Officers are asking the resident who initially reported the incident to contact the Kingsford Public Safety Department at 906-774-2525.
