MSP begins trooper recruit school
The Michigan State Police 126th Recruit School is now underway in Lansing.
The 115 recruits taking part in the school began 21 weeks of training on Sunday. The training involves firearms, patrol techniques, criminal law and many more areas.
The school is a residential program, so the recruits must stay at the MSP Training Academy from Sunday afternoon until Friday evening each week. Graduation is scheduled to take place on May 30th.
Five of the recruits are Upper Peninsula residents — Samantha Bell of Brampton, Paul Ferraro of Brimley, Christopher Johnson of Gladstone, Kristen Therrian of Laurium and Tyler Vargo of Big Bay.
