Two injured, one driver cited in Christmas Day accident

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a two car personal injury accident on Deer Lake Road just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, approximately 2.2 miles North of Cooper Lake Road in Ishpeming Township.

According to a press release from the Sheriffs Department, Kori Faull, age 18 of Ishpeming, was traveling north-bound in a 2003 Subaru on Deer Lake Road when she lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic in the southbound lane. The Faulk vehicle crashed into a 2010 GMC Terrain driven by Kenneth Lafayette, age 79, of Marquette.

Lafayette’s wife, 78-year-old Ettajo Lafayette, was wearing a seat-belt in the front seat and suffered neck and chest injuries. She was transported to Bell Memorial Hospital by Bell Memorial EMS.

Kori Faull was cited for traveling – Speed Too Fast for Conditions.
