Ishpeming students sing for seniors

Holiday cheer was in good supply this morning at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.

Students from Birchview Elementary School performed classic Christmas carols for residents and even performed a few songs on violin. The kids sang a wide variety of Christmas songs, from “Jingle Bells” to “Christmas Don’t Be Late”.

“We strive all year to make this facility as homelike as possible for the residents, so these are just some of the things that if they were at home they would have been able to do,” Marquette County Medical Care Facility activity director Tina Koski said.

Along with listening to the music, residents also received handmade cards from the students. The Marquette County Medical Care Facility will be celebrating Christmas tomorrow with a party and a visit from Santa.
