Falcons defeat Huskies at MacInnes
Despite a flurry of shots in the third period, the Michigan Tech University hockey team fell at home to Bowling Green, 3-2, on Friday, Dec. 13.
Trailing 1-0 in the second period, forward Ryan Furne scored the first Huskies goal of the game on the power play. Reid Sturos and Brent Baltus both assisted on the goal.
Falcons forward Kevin Dufour scored two goals- one in the second and one early in the third- to give BGSU a 3-1 lead. The Huskies pulled to within a goal with 2:43 left in the game, when Alex Petan scored off of a nifty pass from Blake Pietila.
Michigan Tech put 19 shots on goal in the third period compared to just two by Bowling Green, but the Huskies couldn’t tie the game.
The final game of this series is set for Saturday, Dec. 14. Puck drop between the Huskies and Falcons is set for 7:07 p.m.
