The name of the victim in Iron Mountain fatal fire, that took place last Thursday morning, has been released.
Seventy-three year old Rita Nocerini was found dead in her home around 1:00 a.m. in the 300 block of West D Street after succumbing to the fire. Officials determined that the fire started in the bathroom of the residence, where Nocerini was found, from an undetermined source. The remainder of the home suffered smoke damage as a result. However, foul play is not suspected.
The Iron Mountain Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Iron Mountain Police Department, the Dickinson County Sheriffs Department, Kingsford Public Safety, the Michigan State Police, and Integrated First Response.
