At least seven wolves have been killed so far in the U.P. wolf hunt.

One wolf has been killed in Wolf Management Unit A in Gogebic County.

Five wolves have been taken in Unit B. That unit spans portions of Gogebic, Baraga, Houghton and Ontonagon Counties.

Unit C covers portions of Luce and Mackinac Counties, and Michigan DNR officials say one wolf has been killed there.

A total of only 43 wolves can be harvested during the hunting season, which is only in effect in those three areas. The wolf season will continue until New Year’s Eve or until the 43-wolf limit is reached, whichever comes first.
