Police seek help recovering stolen firearms

The Michigan State Police are asking for the public’s help in recovering stolen firearms.

If you have recently purchased or obtained any firearms from a private party, Michigan State Police ask that you contact the Wakefield Post or the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department in Bessemer to check your serial numbers.

The specific models of firearms are a Beretta .30–06 and a Browning .358 caliber.

If you are in possession of a stolen firearm and wish to return it to its owner, Michigan State Police ask that you drop it off at the Wakefield Post or Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office.

No charges will be sought for those who find that they are in possession of a stolen firearm.

A reward is being offered for the return of the firearms in question.
