Man injured in two-car accident
One person was taken to the hospital after two cars crashed into a ditch in Houghton County.
The accident happened in Franklin Township on Wednesday just before 11:30 a.m. Prior to the incident, a 62-year-old man from Dollar Bay was pulling a trailer and had gone into the ditch. The man had exited his vehicle to disconnect the trailer.
While he was working on the trailer, a 37-year-old woman from Hancock attempted to slow down as she approached the scene of the original crash, lost control on the icy road and collided with the vehicle in the ditch.
The man attempting to disconnect the trailer was injured as a result from the crash and was transported to Portage Health E.R.
Assisting at the scene was the Dollar Bay First Responders and the Franklin Township Fire Department.
