Negaunee Veterans Memorial observance

Other Veterans Day ceremonies took place in communities all over the country.

Members of the VFW V.A. Romo Post 3165 and the community gathered at the Veterans Memorial outside Negaunee City Hall today. The ceremony is one way to ensure that those who have served are never forgotten.

“If a person has their flag at their house, this is the day that you should be flying it,” Junior Vice Commander of VFW Post 3165 Thomas J. Stanaway said. “There is no better patriotism at all, anywhere in the United States, than a person that can fly the American flag and remember who stood up for it.”

About 14% of the U.P. population is made up of men and women who’ve served in the military.
